The Lengthening…

Reading Time: 1 minute

Sometimes you walk through
the night looking
up, and it all seems so far
away.
That even if you wanted
to drive upward forever,
you’d never reach any
of that starry brilliance.
At times it feels like the
little golden nuggets
are falling on top of you,
but they never grow any
larger.
You feel their weight
but never their
splendor.
Until one morning,
when you wake up
and realize they
were never falling;
you were growing
the entire time.
